A scandal in the wellness community

There’s a story going around the wellness community right now…

A well-known polyamorous podcaster shared an episode where he claimed that “Spirit” told him he was meant to go on a dating app…

And match with—and impregnate—a beautiful young woman.

Meanwhile, he’s already married, and he and his wife apparently have an understanding.

Naturally, the internet lit up.

People called it manipulative… “This young woman doesn’t know what she’s getting herself into…”

Irresponsible… “He has too big of a big platform to be talking about this kind of behavior!”

Ego disguised as spiritual… “If he wants to hook up, just say that—don’t pretend like this is some divinely-orchestrated union!”

And look—I get it.

It’s easy to react when someone uses spiritual references to justify something that goes against our conditioning around right vs wrong.

In this week’s episode of The Spiritual Perspective, I want to apply our spiritual lens to this situation—because there’s a part of it I haven’t heard anyone talking about.

And that is the part that keeps us getting triggered—by influencers, partners, friends, or anyone else who says or does something we don’t agree with.
