Born without legs or limits
I recently had the privilege of talking with Trevon Jenifer, a three-time Paralympic gold medalist whose story is one of the most inspiring I’ve heard.
Born without legs, he didn’t let that stop him from becoming one of the best defensive players in wheelchair basketball history.
.
.
But his journey wasn’t just about breaking records or winning gold medals—it was about building a lasting legacy for his family and inspiring others to see beyond limitations.
.
.
What struck me most about Trevon was how real and relatable he is. He opened up about leaving his secure job to play basketball overseas, facing moments of doubt after being told he was “half a player,” and how he overcame those challenges to rewrite his story.
We also talked about the delicate balance of being a world-class athlete and a present father, the mental edge that visualization gave him in high-pressure moments, and why he believes true success is about what you leave behind for others.
.
.
This conversation gave me chills—it’s one of those stories that stays with you. Trevon’s wisdom, resilience, and humor shine through, and I think you’re going to love it.
You can start the episode here, and when you’re done, I’d love to hear your thoughts. What part of Trevon’s story resonated most with you?
