Burn the boat
Burn the boat
When the ancient Greek armies landed on the enemy’s shore, the first order given was to burn their boats.
They knew that with no way to retreat, their survival depended on them accomplishing their goal.
As we enter into this new year, it may seem prudent to have a main goal and a fallback plan.
But it’ll be much tougher to stick with the main goal knowing that you have a boat to escape to.
So if you really want to give yourself the best chance of success, burn the boat.
Not only does that give you the freedom of choicelessness,
But it dramatically increases your chances of success.

One way to burn the boat is to get accountability. Good intentions will help you in the first week or two, but joining a community to hold you accountable will make a huge difference when life catches up to your good intentions. Plus, you’ll also need a degree of sobriety in order to really commit to the changes you want to make. Join my 33 Alcohol-Free Challenge and start your first month of the year in community and with a sober mind.
