Dealing with microagressions

Dealing with microagressions

Remember…

You don’t have to respond.

You don’t have to participate.

You don’t have to have an opinion.

You don’t have to say “yes.”

You don’t have to pretend.

Your boundaries are best defined by how you handle the little microaggressions of daily life.

It may be awkward for the other person and uncomfortable for you,

But each microaggression is a golden opportunity for you to be more of your true self.

I snapped this photo on my walk the other day. It’s a couple blocks away from the place where I’ll be hosting my Urban Meditation Retreat in Mexico City at the end of July. This is one of my favorite areas of the city, teeming with cafes, coffee shops, and fountains. Want to join us for the most comprehensive in-person meditation training available? You will leave with a new, daily practice that will keep the stress at bay more once and for all, as well as a new appreciation for this magical city. Register here.
