Fire-aim-ready

Fire-aim-ready

An entrepreneur friend of mine says the conventional “ready-aim-fire” approach to entrepreneurship is a recipe for postponing, not acting.

Instead of first waiting to be ready, then aiming for a goal, then acting, according to my friend, it should be fire-aim-ready.

In other words, we should leap into action first, then we can aim for the real goal that reveals itself, and finally we can ready ourselves mentally for journey ahead.

P.S. Every morning I stand under the shower with my hand on the cold dial. And every morning I hear two voices. The first one says, turn the dial. And the other voice says, you don’t have to do it today, you’ve done it enough times, just take a hot shower instead, no one will know. Far too often we listen to that second voice and ignore the first — and we wonder why things haven’t changed all that much in our life. Let this be the year you start following that first voice.
