For big results, think small

For big results, think small

This week on the podcast, I have a very special guest: my friend and keynote speaking mentor, Josh Linkner.

I met Josh about a year and a half ago when I attended the two-day speaker’s bootcamp that he co-founded called Impact Eleven.

And I was so impressed with Josh’s depth of knowledge and experience that I invited him onto the pod to share the best practices of keynote speaking.

Josh has given over 1,300 keynotes. He’s also been the founder and CEO of five tech companies, a three-time New York Times bestselling author, and a globally-recognized innovation expert.

But the life experience I found most fascinating was Josh’s extensive jazz background—with over a thousand performances to date!

He’s been playing in jazz clubs since he was 13. And that’s where Josh first began learning about and mastering the art of stagecraft and improvisation.

According to Josh, improvising in entrepreneurship and being more innovative in life, is all just jazz—and the same applies to becoming a better public speaker.

Regarding speaking, Josh and I unpack:

  • What it truly means to be a thought leader

  • The art and science of stagecraft

  • How to structure your keynote

  • Why you shouldn’t keep score when it comes to building your business

  • Big mistakes Josh made that he doesn’t want you to make

  • The one thing to do if you want to become a better speaker fast

  • How Josh navigates being an introvert while speaking on big stages

  • How to tell a better story during a business pitch

  • And much more…

Whether you want to be a keynote speaker or not, you’re going to get a lot of useful wisdom out of this episode.

So take a listen on your walk or while straightening up. And if you find it inspiring, please share it on your socials so your friends and followers who may want to do more speaking can benefit from it as well.

As always, I appreciate your feedback and support!
