Getting their attention

Getting their attention

Unhelpful criticism only comes from those who are doing far less than you.

Genuine appreciation without an ask usually comes from people who are operating at your same level of effort.

And useful advice generally comes from those who are doing more than you.

So if you want to get the attention of a thought leader or a creator, find ways to offer no-strings-attached support.

Leave reviews. Share their work.

And if you have a useful critique or an ask, make sure you’ve built rapport first by showing genuine appreciation for their effort.
