It won’t work?
It won’t work?
The most overlooked and undervalued part of learning a new skill is patience.
Try to refrain from uttering phrases like, "I can't get it," or "It won't work."
That’s not a reflection of your ability, but of your lack of patience.
You must give the process more time. And many more reps.
Remember that as your desire to stick with the skill comes and goes,
The patience you cultivate during the process is yours forever.

As a fun exercise in patience, in Travel Light, I walk you through the steps for handwashing and quickly drying your clothes while on the road. It took me a few tries to master the drying part. But now I can dry a garment within five or six hours—which means washing before bed, and waking up to dry clothes. You can see the entire process on page 173 (or in the Freedom of Choicelessness chapter if you have the audiobook).
