Listen to understand

Listen to understand

Arguments often happen when one or both parties aren’t listening to one another.

And here’s the thing…

If you aren’t able to make their argument better than them, then you’re probably the one not listening.

Don’t shoot the messenger. I’ve been there too.

Instead, channel that energy into your listening skills.

Listening to understand that is—not listening to reply with a clever response.

Speaking of listening, I’m now releasing Friday podcast episodes called Plot Twists. A "Plot Twist" is a clip from a past episode where the guest recounts the transformative moment that shifted their life into a totally unexpected direction. I’m sharing these "Plot Twists" for two reasons: 1) to showcase the incredible journeys that have unfolded on The Light Watkins Show, and 2) to inspire you to embrace your own plot twists. Because life’s detours aren’t just obstacles; they’re often onramps to our true purpose. And whether it’s a career setback, a personal loss, or a shocking betrayal, these moments can pivot us toward where we truly need to be. You can listen to or watch the first Plot Twist here
