Look up

Look up

Walk into any room these days and you'll see most people staring down at their phones.

Sure, our phones have become essential tools for daily life.

But constantly staring at screens dulls our ability to really be present.

It's like oversalting our meals until we can't taste natural flavors anymore.

And the folks we want to prioritize aren't the ones sharing the funniest memes,

But the ones who make us forget about our phones entirely—

Who inspire us to look up and just be with whatever's around us.

Today, cherish those who make you forget about your screen, even if just for a moment.

P.S. This will be the last week of Light’s Daily Dose. Starting on Dec 24th, I will go on my first vacation in 8 years from sending out these emails. And on Monday, Jan 6th, I will resume sending them under a new name. Just wanted to give you plenty of notice, as I think you’ll appreciate the next evolution of this offering. More about it soon…

My favorite spot to people watch in Mexico City.

In my year of transformation online coaching program, there’s a challenge where participants wean themselves off of their phone over 7 days—starting with just a few hours of going phone-free, and working their way up to going to entire day without your phone. It’s a powerful exercise. You don’t realize how much time you have on your hands when there’s nothing to scroll through.

If you’re interested in having your most transformative year ever, I’ll be opening this program back up at the beginning of 2025. Stay tuned for my announcement about that.

My passions include keynote speaking, leading meditation retreats, hosting my podcast, and writing self-help books, like Travel Light, Knowing Where to Look, Bliss More, and The Inner Gym. I’ve also got a thriving online community with fun challenges and masterclasses for becoming the best version of you. You can see more about me at lightwatkins.comor follow my journey on Instagram.
