Moving through tragic loss

Moving through tragic loss

This week’s Plot Twist episode is a deeply moving one. I met Jessica Janzen at a conference a couple of years ago, and her story was simultaneously tragic and inspiring.

Jessica’s life changed forever when she lost her infant son, Lewiston, to SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) just before his first birthday. And that unimaginable heartbreak became the catalyst for her embarking upon her incredible mission.

Jessica’s heart nudged her to start a foundation to raise awareness and funds for SMA, and to share her story as far and wide as possible. To date, she has raised millions of dollars to help families facing the challenges of this devastating condition.

Jessica’s also an inspiring author, speaker, and coach who knows firsthand how to turn life’s hardest moments into fuel for creating impact.

In our episode, she shares how following her heart’s nudges, even when they seemed impossible, led her to discover her true purpose.

Jessica also opens up about the lessons she learned from caregiving, her journey through grief, and how gratitude can be found even in the darkest moments.
