Real acceptance

Real acceptance

One of the most difficult spiritual practices to master is the practice of enthusiastically accepting change.

We’ll sometimes appear to accept the change outwardly, while harboring an attitude of “you’ll see” inwardly.

But if we’re being honest, that attitude is a symptom of our faux acceptance.

Real acceptance is the conviction that the change happened for our highest and best good, and for theirs.

It’s remembering that what’s spiritually best for them doesn’t need to be fully understood by us, and vice versa.

Furthermore, if we insist on spending our precious time dissecting and discussing their lessons, we’ll be more likely to miss our own.
