Something new

Something new

I have a friend who introduced me to jogging many moons ago.

And when I think back to those early days, here’s what I still appreciate about him:

Even though my friend had run marathons before, he never ran ahead of me.

And when I started to cramp up, he would patiently walk with me while I recovered.

And most importantly, instead of making me feel bad for having to occasionally slow down, he made me feel like a superhero for trying something new.

Where in your life can you find more patience with people who are trying new things?

8 years ago today, I published my very first Daily Dose of Inspiration. I remember being nervous to hit “send,” because I knew that it was going to lock me into an indefinite commitment. And here we are 8 years later, still going. Thank you for your support, shares, and replies over the years. I could not have done it without you.
