The drama

The drama

The dramatic story of “what happened” pales in comparison to the story of how you adapted to it and took responsibility for your role in it.

Instigators and people who play the victim will focus mainly on “what happened,” and on how screwed up it was, and on who’s to blame.

Your friends who are genuinely interested in your growth will focus on what you learned from the experience, and on how you can avoid the drama the next time.

Instead of getting caught up in the details of the drama, you ideally want to use the situation as an opportunity to help you learn and grow.

This shift in perspective will allow you to quickly move past it, rather than allowing the drama to torment you indefinitely by obsessing over what happened.

I admit, focusing on the deeper lessons is easier said than done. So one way to help you do that is by keeping a gratitude list that you update daily. And the more your orient your perspective towards gratitude, the easier it will be to focus on the deeper lessons in life. If you want community and support, I have a 30-Day Gratitude Challenge in my online community. And your first two weeks are free.

My passions include keynote speaking, leading meditation retreats, hosting my podcast, and writing self-help books, like Travel Light,Knowing Where to Look,Bliss More, and The Inner Gym. I’ve also got a thriving online community with fun challenges and masterclasses for becoming the best version of you. You can see more about me at lightwatkins.comor follow my journey on Instagram.
