The five regrets

The five regrets

Bronnie Ware worked as an end-of-life caregiver for a number of years, and she cited these as the five most common regrets of the dying:

I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

I wish I hadn't worked so hard (reported by all of her males patients).

I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.

I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Since the end of life is coming for us all, and we obviously desire less regrets,

Let’s be intentional now about making different choices.

My suggestion is to choose one regret a day, and do the opposite. Reach out to someone you’ve lost touch with. Go easier on yourself. Speak your truth. Do something for you. Celebrate a small win.
