The old habit
Someone who read my how-to meditate book twice asked me why she just can’t bring herself to actually sit down and meditate.
Because you have a life-long habit of not meditating, I offered.
So the idea of meditating for 15 minutes is getting rejected by your body because it’s addicted to being busy and distracted.
That’s why starting a new habit always seems to take monumental effort and persuasion.
There’s nothing wrong with you as a person.
You’re not broken or unwilling.
It’s merely a reflection of the iron grip that the old habit has over your body.
But with time and consistency in the new habit, it’ll eventually flip…
And you will be as reluctant to skip your meditation as you once were to start.
