True wisdom
The other day, a friend and I were reminiscing about how the older you get, the more exceptions you start to notice in life.
Things you would’ve sworn were one way when you were younger turn out to be completely the opposite as you mature.
It can be humbling and even slightly embarrassing to realize just how much of life you’ve been wrong about.
I imagine this is why Socrates was declared to be the wisest of men after admitting, "I know that I know nothing."
And to that end, thinking that you’re 100% correct is not wisdom. Being open to the possibility that you could still be wrong is true wisdom.

Wisdom is a funny thing. Because to grow wise, one must make many, many mistakes. And when one realizes that one made yet another silly mistake, one mustn’t become to overly critical of oneself for being foolish, or for having the wrong expectations, or for making false assumptions, or for trying to get something for nothing, or for thinking that people can change overnight. Instead, one must quickly adapt a learning mindset, and see the mistake for what it truly is: a powerful lesson, from which one will continue to grow wiser.
