Walking a marathon

Walking a marathon

Did you know that if you walk 10,500 steps a day, from Monday to Friday…

By Friday, you will have walked the length of a marathon (52,400 total steps).

And did you know that your phone has been tracking your steps this entire time?

Check the “Health” app, and you’ll see how many steps you've already taken today.

And when you see it, you'll be inspired to walk more.

Each 10 mins of regular-paced walking is about 1000 steps.

So 10,500 steps is less than two hours of casual walking a day.

To get it in...

Start walking your errands.

If it makes sense, start walking to work.

Start parking in the BACK of the parking lot.

Start having walking meetings.

When catching up with a friend on the phone, go for a walk.

When traveling, walk to the other terminal instead of taking the tram.

When listening to podcasts, walk.

Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

And the next time your doctor asks how active you’ve been,

You can say, “Doc, I’m on pace to walk over 50 marathons this year.”
