What could’ve been

What could’ve been

“You’re not being realistic.”

“You’re running away from responsibility!”

“Isn’t your current life good enough?”

“You’re naive to think you can do that.“

“You don’t even have a fallback plan.”

“You’re going to end up looking stupid.”

Well-meaning people will say anything to keep you from following your heart.

But know this: the day you let them talk you out of it is the day you will begin to live with regret.

And while nobody is suggesting that following your heart is easy…

It won’t have you tossing and turning at night, and waking up tired and uninspired, like the regret of knowing what could’ve been.

If you decide to follow your heart and for some reason it doesn’t work out, you can still go back to playing it safe. As a friend once said, mediocrity always welcomes you back with open arms.
