Your finest hour

Your finest hour

In 2018, my Dad, an accomplished attorney, got indicted for wire fraud.

He didn’t think he did anything wrong,

But he ended up serving three years in federal prison.

Once incarcerated, he spoke with other inmates about their cases,

And he discovered a shocking amount of legal malpractice.

So he began showing dozens of inmates how to appeal their cases,

And how to speak to the judge, and how to present themselves in court.

And during his three years, he helped 48 inmates secure early releases.

He said it was his finest hour as an attorney.

And this is why there’s no such thing as being “off your path.”

Even with unexpected twists and turns, you’re still on your path.

And if you’re in the middle of a twist or turn now,

You may be embarking upon your finest hour.

The day my dad got released from prison, I flew to El Paso, TX to receive him (Aug 2022).

People often ask me what’s been my favorite podcast episode? Without a question, it’s the episode I did with my dad about his time in prison and how he helped those 48 guys get released. You can listen to how it went down here. And because there was so much to cover, we made it a 2-part episode. Part 1 details how he ended up in prison in the first place, and Part 2 is how he got the guys released from prison.
