My guest this week, Dr. Steven Gundry, used to crack open people’s chests for a living.
Literally.
He was a world-renowned heart surgeon, known for taking on the patients no one else would touch.
Then one day, a man named “Big Ed” walked into his office with a shopping bag full of supplements and said, “Let me show you what I’ve been doing.”
Big Ed had been told by every major heart center in the country that he was inoperable — his arteries were too clogged, and no one would take his case.
Dr. Gundry almost rolled his eyes.
But when they re-scanned Big Ed’s heart, he couldn’t believe what he saw:
50% of his blockages had disappeared—without surgery.
.
That moment didn’t just challenge everything he knew about health — it changed the entire course of his life.
He walked away from a prestigious surgical career, risked his reputation, and nearly lost everything to follow a deeper truth:
The body has the power to heal — if we get out of its way.
This conversation is about reclaiming that power in your health, your habits, and your beliefs.
It’s a reminder that real healing doesn’t begin in a hospital.
And that it might be time to question everything you’ve been taught about health — like:
Why surgery is often the last thing your body needs
How one infamous chemical — long believed to cause cancer — might actually support longevity
Which popular fruit contains more sugar than a candy bar
How the healthiest part of fruit juice is often the part we throw away
What’s really behind your mood swings, memory lapses, and low energy
And why true healing begins the moment you start thinking for yourself
.
.
.
Dr. Gundry’s story is bold, countercultural, and deeply hopeful — and it just might change how you take care of your body… and your life.
To your growth,
Light
