Your sage advice

Your sage advice

I have a close friend who was negotiating a business deal with some potential clients.

He and I spent several hours workshopping different strategies, and I offered what I felt was incredible advice for closing the deal.

And he even remarked several times, “Oh that’s good”—which of course my ego loved.

But then, he turned around and ignored all of my brilliant suggestions.

My ego didn’t like that very much.

Initially, I was like, I’m not giving this dude any more advice.

But then I realized that I was making his situation all about me.

And at the end of the day, people have to do whatever they feel is right for them—without justification.

After all, we’re each responsible for our own experience.

So if and when they ignore your sage advice, wish them the best, and mean it.
